This is the first official post of my new website, www.joeywrightphotography.com. Hooray!! Let’s backtrack for one second before I tell you what’s new… My original website, www.wrightgraphics.net, is basically an online portfolio that showcases some of my graphic design work and freehand art as well as my photography. My new website, that you’re currently staring at, is much more functional while focusing strictly on my photography. Here is a quick breakdown of the site and what you will find on each page:
Home Page – This is where you will find out what’s new in the photography world of yours truly. I’ll be posting articles about my latest shoots with pictures, tips and ‘behind the scenes’ photos. I’ll also post anything cool or useful that I find while surfing the web including, but not limited to, other photographers’ sites, tutorials and great deals on techy stuff. I plan to add new articles weekly as a ploy to get people to come back to my site regularly. Feel free to leave comments and/or share my posts with those 690 facebook friends that you have, 620 of whom you don’t actually know or perhaps haven’t seen since the third grade.
About Me – This one is pretty self explanatory. It’s the narcissistic section of my website where I talk about how cool I am and why you should try to be more like me. jk. Actually, I do tell you a little about myself but I also let you know what equipment I’m using to get the job done.
Portfolio - I’ve categorized my work to save you the time from having to click through hundreds of pictures of scantily clad women when you were really looking for some photos of a humming bird… or maybe it’s the other way around. In other words, you’ll find examples of my work here.
Rates – Here you will find my current black market rates for my photography services. You will also find a PayPal link at the bottom of the page which can be used to pay retainer fees, remaining balances and charitable donations to the ‘Joey Wright Chipotlé Fund.’
Booking - My booking calendar is a very complex tool which you should not attempt to use until you’ve taken my 3 day course for only $1,200… Actually, there is no training involved and as it turns out, the calendar is pretty simple to use. My availability is shown by the dates on the calendar that highlighted. Click on the date that you would like to book, fill in the required text fields, click the ‘send’ button and PRESTO, your request is my command!
Contact - If you have a question, inquiry or would simply like to vent… use the contact form to get in touch with your boy (Joey). My secretary also suggested having a contact form in order to save trees by allowing my fan mail to be sent digitally. (none of that last sentence is true but you believed me for a second, admit it)
Before I close this epic first post, I wanted to point out a couple of other small things that you’ll find on this site. At the top of the site, you’ll notice the ‘Featured Image.’ Go ahead, click on it and see what happens… I dare you!… Did you do it? Wasn’t it awesome!? My featured image will always be updated with, frankly, any friggin image I want up there! On the right hand side of the page, you’ll find quick access to the following:
- My Latest Work – Clicking on a thumbnail will take you to the related post.
- Search box – Not as useful right now because you’ll only find this post, sadly.
- Categories & Archives – A smart way to get to the posts that you care about, including the obsolete ones.
- My Social Site Buttons – If you feel as though you didn’t get your Joey fix from this site… feel free to stalk me elsewhere.
- Links – These will take you to my photog friends’ websites, great product sites and whatever else I find interesting.
Well, that’s it for post numero UNO. I’m sure that your reading experience was similar to a trip to the gym: You didn’t want to at first, it kinda sucked during, and you don’t regret it now that you’re done. I just hope that I didn’t scare you from ever returning. If you do come back, “I’ll be your best friend!” (that was a tactic I used in 2nd grade… I hope it still works!)

While surfing through your website I got interested in having a site about my photos. A huge is the missing webdesign experience. How did you set up your website? I am not able to pay a webdesigner for this task because it’s just a quick idea. Any recommendations about an easy tool or software? Your blog seems to be custom programmed right?
