While traveling on assignment in Miami, I had the pleasure of working with the insanely photogenic Elaine Alden. I was extra excited when my friend and talented graphic artist, Ed Senf, offered us access to his brother’s distinguished recording studio (www.thephantomofthestereo.com) as a backdrop for the majority of our shoot. Ed also produced a great highlight video which you can check out below. At the end of the day, Elaine and I decided it would be foolish to neglect the great scenery that South Beach has to offer so we hit the sand. I think it’s worth noting that Elaine was indirectly responsible for the face-smacking of at least one rubber-necking husband during our beach shoot. I took a trip out to a “secret” location this past Saturday to shoot Jessica Barton (model) along with Yen Ryder (hair stylist) and Jonathan Pears (videographer). I stumbled upon this abandoned barn during one of my recent location scouting expeditions in which I waste gas for a few hours and sing along to my favorite music which I still don’t know the words to. It was this location that made me realize one of the reasons that photographers get classified as weirdos… Simply because we tend to shoot at locations that would be perfect for the next installment of the Saw movie franchise. Fear not models, I always check for stray crack heads before I let you out of the car. With that said, we had an amazing shoot free of danger and full talent.
